Frequently Asked Questions
Is a deposit required?
A 10% deposit is required within 7 days of receiving your booking confirmation.

When does the face painting session need to be paid in full?
The face painting session may be paid in full prior to the session or on the day.

What happens if I need to cancel the face painting session?
Any money paid will be 100% refunded where cancellation occurs 72 hours (3 days) prior to the session. For cancellations occurring within 72 hours of the session, the 10% deposit will be retained to cover admin and preparation costs. In the case of a birthday party where a child is sick or unwell, I will try to reschedule your event where possible.

How do I hire or schedule a booking for face painting?
You may request a booking by completing the Hire a Face Painter form on the website. On requesting the booking, you will receive a booking confirmation within 24 hours. If I'm unable to confirm the booking, I will contact you to see whether a more suitable time is available or recommend another face painter. You may also contact me directly via email, celinelovesarah@gmail.com, or phone/message me on 0426 026 609.

Do you take last minute bookings?
I'm happy to take last minute bookings depending on availability. In this case, please contact me directly on 0426 026 609.

How many faces can you paint in one hour?
I can paint up to 20 faces per hour depending on the request.

What is your minimum booking time?
My minimum booking time for face painting is 2 hours.

Do you charge for travel?
I do not charge any travel time when the venue is within 25kms of Brisbane CBD. For distances further than 25kms and up to 50kms, a fee of $20 will be incurred for travel time. Please contact me directly if the venue is further then 50kms from Brisbane CBD.

Are all your face paint products safe for use on children’s skin?
All my skin products are sourced from reputable Australian suppliers. Skin reactions can still occur in rare occasions; and for this reason, I recommend people with sensitive skin or allergies not participate in the session.

How do you remove your face paints?
All face paints wash off with soap and water. Some colours may stain slightly but these can be removed further by rubbing baby oil or make up remover to the area and rewashing.

What hygiene measures do you follow?
All my face paints and equipment are cleaned between parties and at the end of the day.

What do you require from us for face painting?
I bring everything needed to face paint including my own workstation and chair. Aside from this, I do require good lighting and shelter from the sun and rain when working outside. I also request the face painting is positioned furthest possible distance from any loud sound systems, pets and/or physical activity i.e. children playing ball games.

What happens if there are extra children but the time has run out?
I will do my best to paint all children wanting face painting during the session. If there are more children requiring face painting than anticipated, I charge $50 per half hour for extra time. However, this is subject to whether I have back-to-back bookings or prior personal commitments.

What are your minimum numbers?
I don't have a set minimum number of children. If you are expecting a fewer number of children, i can spend more time on each child doing more detailed design. Please note that the minimum booking is 2 hours.

What should I do if weather is going to affect my event?
I always suggest you organize the event in a way so as not to be impacted by bad weather or extreme temperatures. If we experience severe weather on the day i.e. heavy rain or strong winds, I will discuss with you to relocate to a sheltered area or other options to allow the activity to continue. I generally do not cancel bookings as a result of bad weather. If you believe the weather forecast does not look good, I suggest cancelling 72 hours prior to the event to avoid any cancellation fees.

What time do you need to arrive prior to the party?
I prefer to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to commencement to set up my workstation.

Do parents need to participate?
As an artist, I shouldn’t be expected to “look after”, “keep an eye on” or supervise any children. During the face painting session, children remain the responsibility of the parent, guardian or event host.

How young can a child be to have face painting?
For safety and insurance reasons, I'm unable to paint children under the age of 3 months.

Can children be left unattended?
The safety of children at your event is of the utmost importance to me. Parents and/or the host are responsible for the safety of the children during the party or event, and this especially applies to younger children. During the face painting session, children are to remain the responsibility of the parent, guardian or event host.
